On the spacious hill, only 40 km from Zagreb, above the shrine of the Mother of God Bistrica, the Winery Micak was built based on the tradition and hospitality of three generations. Even since 1958. the supreme wine in Winery Micak was enjoyed in the dining room with its rich, authentic taste.

The greatest satisfaction is shown to Winery Micak when guests stay to the late hours of the night with joy and pleasure and friendship, and when they are happy to return back.
As a family, Winery Micak traditionally deal with the processing of grapes and the production of wine. From the time our grandparents and parents were cultivating the grapes as it was their saviour, facing poverty until recent times and we as the third generation of Micak family is advancing to the challenges of the 21st century.
Wine not only attracts our charm, but also completes our business in trading, hosting, socializing and dancing in a place that is visited by almost a million people every year, most of whom are pilgrims.
In fact, we are part of those rivers of people we do not know personally, but they are so close and familiar to us, which encourages us to become more compassionate and companionable.
The work we are dealing with and the results we have achieved confirm us in the knowledge that this generation of the Micak family will survive along the grape vine, in the shrine of Mary Bistrica and with all the good people of this region.
About our wines
In the green belt of Bistrica region, at the very bottom of the vineyard area, we built a modern wine cellar – the Micak winery, using original, natural materials shaped into a suitable and modern architecture. It is our wine cellar, filled with stainless steel and wooden barrels. Seating capacity inside is 90 seats and outside space with beautiful terrace has a capacity of 200 seats.

Grandfather Dragutin founded the winery in 1958.
The winery has a capacity of 70,000 liters, and the wines are protected by a geographical indication and are all in the range of high quality wines. Over the past 10 years, Winery Micak has won over 30 gold medals for its wines in various competitions. Our winery also has a continental Croatian Cabernet Sauvignon champion. And for all this, we proudly emphasize our passage: “Wines from the Sanctuary.”
Dry wine of ruby-red color. Here prevail aromas of raspberries and dark berry fruits. We recommend it with dark poultry meat and wild animal dishes. It is settled in French type barrels, and you can feel the taste of pleasant and dozen tannins. This wine is characterized by elevated alcohols. Ideal serving temperature is 16 degrees Celsius.
Dry wine of deep ruby-red color, stronger body and expressive taste and fragrance. It has a reminiscent of black currant, vanilla and green pepper. The balance and intensity of the basic components gives a natural possibility for long-term aging. It matures in French oak barrels and it has a taste of young oak - vanilla, bread ripened and spices. We recommend it with dark meats, fish and some types of sweets with high chocolate content.
Zweigelt is an Austrian sort formed by the mixing of the Frankopan and st. Laurent grapes. This sort of wine is characterized by higher fertility, and it belongs to a medium-sized body wine. It has a little elevated acid but it is also very coherent. The smells of berry fruit prevail. We mature it in medium-burned baroque barrels of Slavonian oak. It has dark red-ruby color. We recommend it with lamb and pork meat prepared in the traditional Croatian way.
It is a wine of greenish-yellow color that by aging transform in a light brown color with a golden glare. The fragrance is clean, dominated by green apple or similar fruits. It has a note of minerality, which in combination with fruity taste gives a fantastic attitude. Fresh and harmonious, lightly bitter taste is ideally greased with white meat dishes, but also with Croatian turkey.
Diamond pusa is a cuvee of white grape sorts (chardonnay, sauvignon, traminac, silvanac green). It is a dry wine of light yellowish-green color. It belongs to flattering wine of gentle floral aromas interwoven between the primary aromas of the basilica flower and the ogrozd (special apple type fruit) in sauvignon to the floral aromas in chardonnay and the pronounced minerality in the silty green. It is a complex mixture in the class of high quality wines suitable for all kinds of celebrations. We recommend it for grilled dishes.
It belongs to white wine emphasized by greenish-yellow color. It is also semi-dry wine of lower alcohols and it is distinguished by its pitfalls and the recognizable freshness of its Silvanian ancestors. A gentle and sparkling wine of expressive aromas typical for this sort. We recommend it with white meat dishes, Croatian turkey, light goat meat and cow cheese.
It is dry wine of light yellowish-greenish color. We can recognize it by the scent of aromas of bass, grass and throat. It is extremely complex wine that expands with its fresh varietal aroma and balanced acidity. It fits well with cold starters and cheese.
Traminac is a wine of golden color with strong, low acidity and light oily structure. The smell of this wine has a clear protective sign: it is about flavors that resemble roses of petals and honey. These specific aromas make it easy to recognize it. Since it is semi-dry wine, we recommend it with meat dishes of continental Croatian cuisine.
It is white dry wine of yellow-greenish color and it is very fruity and smooth. Naturally high alcohol content gives it a rounded and sweet taste. Fruit flavors range from lemon to apple. It is ideal for dispersing in new barricades, and because of its neutrality, it is a pleasure to see it together with continental meals.
It is selection of specially selected sorts of Cabernet Sauvignon in special southern positions of our vineyard. It is a dry wine at the border of a half-hearted, strong ruby color. It is extremely complex wine of strong and harmonious body. It has aromas of dry plum, berry fruit and vanilla predominate. It matures in first class French oak barrels. We recommend it for meals made from dark meat and also with grilled dishes.
Darmol is a special wine obtained from the selection of the highest quality grapes from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It is archive wine with a precisely defined numbered series.
Santa Maria Nigra (Cabernet sauvignon)
It is a special selection of botrytised grapes. It is grafted and concentrated by botrytis cinerea or noble mold. Botritis occurs in vineyards under certain weather conditions: morning fog and dry and warm afternoons. Such dehydrated grapes develop specific aromas that delight and are extremely complex and edible. This is the wine we serve after lunch or dinner - a high proportion of alcohol and sugar. A powerful wine that will shine in its full shine after years spent in our cellar.
Santa Maria Bianca (Grasevina)
It is a special selection of botrytised grapes. It is grafted and concentrated by botrytis cinerea or noble mold. Botritis occurs in vineyards under certain weather conditions: morning fog and dry and warm afternoons. Such dehydrated grapes develop specific aromas that delight and are extremely complex and edible. This is the wine we serve after lunch or dinner - a high proportion of alcohol and sugar. A powerful wine that will shine in its full shine after years spent in our cellar. We recommend it with desserts.
It is dessert wine of straw-yellowish color, expressed by muscular smell and real taste blossoms and floral fragrance. Flavor is long lasting and aromatic. It ideally agrees with Zagorje strukli and with all kinds of strudel and desserts.
